One of my favorite local blogs (with the massive exception being the always super-novic Tangents & The Times written by none other than Marissa A. Ross) is a blog called We Listen For You. They earn the distinction of being one of two music blogs nestled cozily in my Google Reader amidst a bajillion food and graphic design blogs.
Now, I don’t have the pleasure of knowing these fine gentleman who 1) have very very good taste in music (Their top rated list includes this year’s Animal Collective, Camera Obscura, Grizzly Bear and Pheonix, all of which I agree with) and 2) exude great passion in the execution of their blog, but after all these months of reading and sharing the same music tastes I feel like I should know them.
Exhibit A:

Then the question arises…maybe I DO know them and their blog is just an elaborate scheme to hide their identities from the scrutiny of the public eye!
Ahem. Anything is possible.
What is this all about you may ask? Well I feel like they know that my week has been insane. Lately work has been turned into 4 jobs in 1 with no real hope for a raise (thanks, recession) and this week was not only deadline week but also we are in production (Miller Lite!) and I feel like they felt my pain, that We Listen For You Wanted to lighten and brighten my day with none other than…Jason Schwartzman’s Coconut Records and a quirky sweet video to go along with it.
Seriously. Nothing could be better. Except the mass amount of thai food in my stomach. (Super bonus!)
Thank you We Listen For You. You have done a fabulous job of listening for me, and I hope that they do the same for you. Take the time to check out their blog, listed under Movers/Shakers and especially check out their Silverlake Steps series.
The song is perfect for today. The video makes me want to romp and be silly. LUCKILY its .92 hours and then I AM FREEEEEEEEEE!!!
Also, if you are just trying to kill time before you make it to the 5 o’clock mark, they also posted this video which is so sweet
Here’s to the weekend…
